As far as the "boring" part goes, I think that not every recipe post to be about the cook's gushing personalities, though many? of them do act like they would like to host a cooking show.

It's funny how you have subtitles for your mom, but you don't have subtitles for the amounts you are putting in. How much syrup? How much mashed potato flake? How much baking powder? etc etc!
Sorry to be so harsh, but I thought I'd give some advice.
