One of my key goals is to have a clear both, free of sediment. Start your water already boiled from a kettle and pour in to the crockpot, and be sure to skim the broth as it begins to froth and remove the "dirty foam". As with any soup made in a crockpot, it will thicken...you can simply add water to desired consistency.
